Help for Embedding Documents

The best option  for embeding a document into Blogger seems to be http://embedit.in/.  This site connects with your existing Google Account and allows you to either embed the document in the post or link to the document.  A blog visitor would not require an account at Embedit.in to be able to download the document.

However, it is important to SAVE your documents as PDF files before you upload them to Embedit.in.  This ensures proper preview of the document.

For the steps on how to use http://embedit.in/:

  1. Save the document as PDF
  2. Go to http://embedit.in/
  3. Select “Select files” from the home page. It will prompt you to log in with your Google Account. If you are already in your blog, you may just have to click on the Google icon and it will automatically log you in.
  4. File will upload and should automatically take you to the page to embed it on your blog.
  5. Choose the option on this page to “Copy to clipboard”. This will copy the embed script to your computer clipboard so you can paste it in your post.
  6. Go to your blog and the post where you wish to embed the document. Make sure to click from “visual” to “html” on the blog post in the top right hand corner of the editing bar.
  7. Go to the spot on the blog where you wish to have the file display. Paste the code. Save the post and preview.

This image is an example of one of the many different ways you can share information on your blog in interesting ways!

Blog Gadgets and HTML

There are a variety of tools on the internet that you can explore which will add interest and usefulness to your blog for your readers.

They are easy to use and easy to display on your blog as long as you know how to copy the codes to insert them as gadgets or even right inside your post!

Remember, gadgets are found in the "design" section of your dashboard.  You will be looking for the HTML/Java Script gadget.  HTML is short for code.  It is this code that, when copied and pasted correctly onto your blog, will display your newly created gadget.
